I am a drummer and has been involved with music – in one form or fashion – for more than 40 years. One of my concerts in progress, must play a drum kit contained in a sound booth. Isolation headphones are an absolute necessity of this approach. My old headphones were worn well and I did a lot ‘of research on a new pair. Most “pro” Studio headphones are $ 150 + and I would not leave much for them. When I saw Koss QZ-99′s, read the reviews (most of which were good), and given the price (even forty dollars – shipping – on Ebay) – I decided to give them a try. Yes, they are quite adequate for my purposes – they do a good job, reduce background noise – it is pretty built with metal supports, rather than as soon as the broken plastic used on most headphones today – and likely to remain well . They fit snuggly – maybe a little ‘too snuggly – but, again, it is desirable for my purposes. I do not want to fly away while I play. So – fill the need for me – and relatively cheap compared to most alternativ.Nu more bad news – the sound quality of these headphones is mediocre at best, and may be uncomfortable to wear. Bass reproduction is very poor – and if you try to emphasize the bass, you get an annoying rattle in both earphones. Since the sound elements that can not hold, I do not think that would hold up long with the settings Bass Enhanced. The tweeter also seems a bit ‘truncated. . . I would describe the sound a little ‘cloudy’ in general. These are not “audiophile” quality headphones – which I had headphones from cheap discount, which could easily match – and in some cases exceeding – the sound quality on Koss QZ-99′s. Almost everyone, but the smaller heads will probably be too narrow (and a bit ‘too heavy) for extended wear without discomfort. As the Amazon description – these can be “ideal for use with racing scanners and metal detectors – but not for the casual and comfortable way to listen musik.En thing that seriously disturbs me to read some of the reviews of others: here is how often these will be promoted for use in the use of power tools and equipment. In any case, you should listen to the music – or any other source – when using chain saws, lawn mowers, chain saws, etc., it is simply beyond stupid and can be very dangerous for you – and for those around you. Of course you should do everything possible to protect your ears with passive (non-speakers) headphones or earplugs when exposed to high equipment – but do not really need attention distracted by musiken.Så – I’m quite satisfied of these for my destination (study isolation) and is unlikely to be tolerable for a lot of metal detectors and scanners, even on race day. But – if you buy them just to listen to music and expect to have a pleasant and comfortable experience – is more likely to be very, very disappointed. . . . . and if you plan to use them, while operating income noxious Power Equipment – You are a complete idiot. . . . These can not be the best in NOISE REDUCTION earphones, but the sound is better than average and the construction is sturdy and well built. Absence of plastic parts CHEAP BREAK, these are mostly metal parts. Has a long study of cord and built Volumn Control and Dual Mode button on the cable for stereo or mono. For the money, are a good buy. I would recommend them to general use. Rating: 4 / 5
